Tinubu Appoints Odion, Rabiu As FCCPC Executive Commissioners

President Bola Tinubu has officially approved the appointment of Louis Odion and Ummusalma Isiyaku Rabiu as new Executive Commissioners for the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), pending Senate confirmation.

Louis Odion, from Edo State, will serve as Executive Commissioner, Operations. A seasoned journalist and former Edo State Commissioner for Information, Odion has also been a Senior Technical Assistant to ex-Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. He brings academic depth with Master’s degrees in Modern War Studies (University of Buckingham, UK) and International Law and Diplomacy (University of Lagos).

Ummusalma Isiyaku Rabiu, 35, from Kano State, will serve as Executive Commissioner, Corporate Services. She is the founder of the Usir Foundation, an NGO focused on education, skills development, and humanitarian support for underprivileged communities. Known for advocating youth and women’s inclusion in governance, Rabiu holds a degree in Business Administration and has been actively involved in grassroots politics.

According to Tinubu’s media aide, Bayo Onanuga, the appointments align with the FCCPC Act, 2018, to strengthen consumer rights protection and fair competition in Nigeria.
