Tinubu Approves Posting of Four Ambassador-Designates

President Bola Tinubu has approved the posting of four ambassador-designates from the list earlier confirmed by the Senate in December. The approval was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday night by the presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, Ambassador Ayodele Oke has been posted to France, while Colonel Lateef Are is the ambassador-designate to the United States. Ambassador Amin Dalhatu, a former envoy to South Korea, will serve as high commissioner-designate to the United Kingdom.

Also approved is the posting of former Kebbi State Governor, Usman Isa Dakingari Suleiman, as ambassador-designate to Turkey, ahead of the President’s scheduled state visit to the country next week.

President Tinubu has directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to notify the governments of the four countries in line with diplomatic procedures.

The approvals follow Tinubu’s submission of ambassadorial nominees to the Senate in November last year after nearly two years of vacancies at Nigerian missions abroad. Additional names were later forwarded, bringing the total confirmed nominees to 67.
