Tinubu Has Genuine Plans for a Safer, United Nigeria — APC Assures Nigerians

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged Nigerians to have confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to building a safer, more united and prosperous nation. The party said the President’s intentions are sincere and focused on improving the lives of citizens across the country.

The Lagos State APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, gave the assurance on Sunday evening at the third edition of the party’s Christmas Carol and Nine Lessons programme. The event, themed “Prince of Peace (Omo Alade Alafia),” was held at the APC secretariat in the Ogba area of Lagos State.

Speaking at the gathering, Ojelabi encouraged Nigerians to remain resilient despite current challenges, stressing that President Tinubu’s vision for the country remains genuine and unwavering. He praised the President’s efforts toward national unity, economic revitalisation and the overall welfare of Nigerians, describing them as worthy of support and collective commitment.

Ojelabi also reaffirmed the Lagos State APC leadership’s dedication to ensuring security of lives and property in the state under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. According to him, Lagos remains safe for residents, visitors and tourists, and will continue to be a haven for all.

Reflecting on the significance of the Christmas carol, Ojelabi said the theme highlighted the special role of Jesus Christ as the embodiment of peace. He noted that the event was organised to promote reflection, love and service, while reminding Nigerians of the importance of religious leadership in achieving peace and prosperity.

He urged citizens to shun bitterness, hatred and violence, calling on everyone to show more love for one another and greater enthusiasm for the nation’s progress. According to him, collective responsibility is key to making Lagos and Nigeria brighter and more prosperous.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, said Lagos had enjoyed relative peace for over two decades and called on residents to always prioritise peace, regardless of political differences. He described the APC as a symbol of progress and urged Nigerians to use the Christmas season to strengthen unity and peaceful coexistence.

Also speaking, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele encouraged Nigerians to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas and live by the values exemplified by Jesus Christ. He urged citizens to remove negative behaviours capable of hindering personal and national progress, stressing that faith should inspire positive action.

The event attracted prominent political, religious and traditional leaders, including clergy who led prayers for President Tinubu, Governor Sanwo-Olu, Lagos State and the nation. Various church choirs and gospel artistes added colour to the celebration, drawing a large and enthusiastic crowd of APC members and guests.
