Solomon Dalung, a former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, has sent a strong warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying he might be forced to return to Lagos after just one term in office.
Dalung, who is a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), made the remarks in an interview with the Nigerian Tribune on Saturday. According to him, both the APC and PDP have failed Nigerians, leaving room for new political forces like the ADC to rise.
“Tinubu may come to the conclusion that he should be preparing to return to Lagos by May 29, 2027,” Dalung warned. He explained that with worsening hardship, insecurity, and poor governance, citizens are gradually losing patience and will soon demand a fresh political alternative.
He also fired back at Tinubu’s earlier jab that the ADC was just a camp for “internally displaced politicians.” Dalung insisted the party is fast gaining ground and is positioning itself as a strong contender ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“The ADC is not just another minor opposition party. We are building a movement that will shock even the most doubtful Nigerians,” he declared.
Although he kept specific strategies under wraps, Dalung revealed that the party is engaging stakeholders nationwide and is committed to presenting credible candidates capable of challenging the status quo.
