President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday officially swore in Dr. Bernard Doro and Dr. Kingsley Udeh as ministers, marking their formal entry into the Federal Executive Council (FEC). The ceremony, which took place inside the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja, began at exactly 1:52 p.m., moments before the first FEC meeting since July 2025.
The swearing-in restored cabinet representation for Plateau and Enugu states, which had been without ministers for several weeks. Dr. Doro, a UK-trained medical expert and public health administrator, replaces Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, who resigned after becoming the APC National Chairman. Doro, from Kwall in Bassa LGA of Plateau State, brings over two decades of combined experience in clinical medicine, pharmacy, and technology-driven health strategy.
Meanwhile, Dr. Kingsley Udeh, the former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Enugu State, was sworn in to replace Uche Nnaji, who resigned in October amid academic record controversies. Udeh, recently elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), was nominated and swiftly confirmed by the Senate earlier this month.
Their addition brings Tinubu’s cabinet strength to 48 ministers. Following the ceremony, the President presided over the FEC meeting, where Wale Edun, the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, revealed that Nigeria’s $2.35 billion Eurobond was oversubscribed by 453%, attracting $13 billion in investor orders — a sign of renewed global confidence in the Nigerian economy.
Edun outlined the government’s next steps to remove investment barriers, review tariffs, and improve fiscal discipline. President Tinubu, in his remarks, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening diplomacy, boosting investor confidence, and ensuring national security, declaring that “the task ahead remains to defeat terrorism and deliver a peaceful, inclusive, and prosperous Nigeria.”
