Troops Rescue 86 Kidnap Victims, Arrest 29 Boko Haram Logistics Suppliers in Borno

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Joint Task Force North East, have rescued 86 kidnapped civilians and arrested 29 suspected Boko Haram logistics suppliers during coordinated counter-terrorism operations in Borno State. The operations took place on Sunday, November 9, 2025, along the Damaturu–Buratai–Biu axis.

According to a senior military officer, troops from the 135 Special Forces Battalion intercepted Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists at Dutse Kura while they were abducting motorists and passengers. The troops overpowered the insurgents after a fierce gun battle, rescuing men, women, and children held captive and destroying 11 makeshift terrorists’ camps.

Recovered items included an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, five civilian vehicles, five motorcycles, eight bicycles, and logistics tricycles. In a related operation at Mangada, troops arrested 29 suspects transporting fuel, tyres, food, and medical supplies allegedly meant for insurgents in Chilaria.

The Military High Command commended the troops’ bravery and professionalism, urging them to sustain the momentum to ensure terrorists are denied safe havens across the North East.
