Waiting On Tinubu For Decision on Immigration boss’ Retirement Needless As Document, says CG Nandap appointed for 18 months

FACTs have emerged that President Bola Tinubu appointed the Comptroller-General of Immigration Service, Kemi Nana Nandap, for an eighteen month period.

Nandap was expected to have retired after 35 years in the service last Thursday, October 10, 2024.

But this is contrary to the terms and conditions of her appointment by President Tinubu who had expressly indicated in her appointment that she would serve in the position of CG Immigrations for eighteen months.

The civil service rules stipulate that an officer within the service mandatorily retires from service on reaching 60 years of age or 35 years in service.

By the rule, Nandap ought to have retired last Thursday, October 10, 2024.

But President Tinubu had appointed her as NIS CS for an 18-month tenure effective March 1, 2024.

This means her tenure will run till September next year.

Her letter of appointment was dated February 26, 2024. [with Western Post report]
