The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has given a final 14-day grace period to property owners in Asokoro, Maitama, Garki, and Wuse who altered the approved use of their buildings without authorization.
According to a statement from his media aide, affected property owners are required to pay a ₦5 million penalty and complete all regularisation processes between November 11 and November 25, 2025.
Wike warned that those who fail to comply within the given period will face strict enforcement actions from the FCT Administration.
The directive follows the minister’s earlier approval of fines and charges for unauthorized property conversions, with a list of 374 affected owners already published earlier in the year.
Owners who comply within the grace period will be issued new title documents reflecting the approved change of use — except for those whose titles were previously revoked for non-development or unpaid ground rent.
