Wike’s 2027 Election Remarks Are Inconsequential – Lawyer Liborous Oshoma Fires Back

Prominent legal practitioner Liborous Oshoma has taken a swipe at FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, dismissing his recent political comments as irrelevant ahead of the 2027 general election.

Speaking during an appearance on The Morning Show on Arise Television on Monday, Oshoma made it clear that he no longer takes Wike’s political statements seriously.

“There are certain individuals whose statements I don’t take seriously because I’ve heard them speak from both sides of their mouths before,” he said, in a subtle jab at Wike’s shifting political positions.

Oshoma argued that if Wike wasn’t serving in the cabinet of the All Progressives Congress (APC), he would most likely have aligned with the emerging opposition coalition.

“If Wike had not been in this position, he likely would have been a member of the coalition,” he added.

He further suggested that the ruling party must be feeling some pressure from the coalition’s growing momentum—otherwise, Wike wouldn’t feel the need to issue public statements discrediting it.

“If the ruling party isn’t worried about the prospects of the coalition, then Minister Wike would not be issuing statements urging Nigerians not to take them seriously,” Oshoma concluded.
