Street-hop singer Portable has come out swinging at controversial social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM), accusing him of using Mohbad’s tragic death to mislead Nigerians. In a fiery video, Portable didn’t hold back, calling VDM a “manipulator” who’s turning the #JusticeForMohbad campaign into personal clout.
Portable expressed deep disappointment, especially over VDM’s continued attacks on actress Iyabo Ojo, who has been vocal about seeking justice for Mohbad. According to Portable, the activist has lost focus: “You said you wanted justice for Mohbad, so why are you now dragging the same people fighting for him?”
The singer reminded Nigerians how Mohbad’s death in September 2023 shook the country and sparked massive outrage. He questioned why VDM, who once accused others of being involved in the singer’s death, is now backpedaling and “confusing the public.”
“Let Mohbad rest,” Portable pleaded. “Dragging his name now does no good. We know the people who bullied him when he was alive. Don’t twist the story now for your own fame.”
His outburst echoes growing frustration over how social media narratives around Mohbad’s death continue to shift—and not always in the direction of truth or justice.
