EDO State executive governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has been lauded on his sterling performances at bringing good governance to the people of the state, since about one hundred days’ benchmark, he was sworn in as the state governor, following a keenly contested election, in which he triumphed over Dr. Asue Ighodalo and Mr. Olumide Akpata, candidates of the state’s People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP), respectively.
This and other messages of felicitation with the governor, were sent to the press, via a statement by Francis Goddy Okoyo FCA, a notable APC chieftain from Ugboha Ward of Esan South East local government area (LGA) of the state.
Okoyo, a Canadian based Chartered Accountant, Business Professional, and a Behavioural Scientist stated that the solid achievements so far made by Senator Okpebholo, within a short time of one hundred days of taking over the mantle of Edo leadership, had brought a great succor and more hope to the people of the state, who had just come out from the eight years of poor governance and miseries caused by the immediate-past government, under Mr. Godwin Obaseki, as governor.
Mr. Okoyo, the arrowhead of the 2024 Edo APC Diaspora Campaign Committee of the former Edo APC Governorship Campaign Council, that worked assiduously for the election of the governor, who is more known by the acronym of GFO, urges the governor to “tighten up his belt, keep his hands on the plough and not look back”, saying further that the future will surely judge him right, on his selfless efforts to make life much better for the Edo people.
Mr. Okoyo, also known for his philanthropic dispositions in Nigeria and in the diaspora, called on the leaders and other faithful of the state chapter of the APC, to joined hands with the governor, to better the lots of the Edo populace, adding that Senator Okpebholo had already started the good moves.
