Clem Agba Tasks Healthcare Professionals And Nigerians On Healthcare Emergencies

A persuasive call has been made to healthcare professionals and the Nigerian public, to be prepared and efficient in responding to health emergencies, in order to guarantee access to qualitative healthcare delivery to all.

The call was made by the immediate-past minister for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, at the event of a Stimulation Test Exercise of the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital (ISTH), Uzanu Annex, located at Uzanu-Uneme, in Etsako East Local Government Area (LGA) of Edo State.

Speaking further at the event, hosted by the ISTH’s Institute of Viral Hemorrhagic Fever and Emerging Control and Research, Agba harped on “the need for proactive and collective efforts to strengthening response capabilities to public health emergencies”, about which he also said there should be a preparedness against devastating viral fevers and emerging pathogens, which the world had witnessed, in recent times.

Speaking about the Uzanu ISTH annex, a Federal Government owned hospital with 80 beds, which he initiated and executed for the Edo North senatorial district and the state, including some other health institutions and development projects he (Agba) established across the country, he praised the people of the district and the state, for assisting themselves with the well-equipped and lifesaving medical facilities of the Uzanu hospital extension.

Also during the occasion, Prince Agba, holder of the Commander of the Order of the Niger and two other chieftaincy titles from his Edo North district, thanked the Chief Medical Director of ISTH, Prof Reuben Agbons Eifediyi, for his determination at achieving the goals on which the Uzanu ISTH annex was established
