THE National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), has approved full accreditation of all academic programmes run by the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi.

The board also approved eight new academic programmes for the school including Higher National Diploma (HND) in Crime Management, Cooperative Economics and Management.

This is contained in a statement by Alhaji Rabiu Wada, Director, Information, Public Relations and Protocol of the institution, on Wednesday in Bauchi.

He said the institution has achieved 100 per cent accreditation status, as a landmark achievement affirming its academic excellence and institutional quality.

Wada said the approval was conveyed in a letter by Dr Fatima Umar, Director, Polytechnic Programmes Department of the board.

“This further expands our academic portfolio in response to emerging national needs and global trends,” he said.

“While commending the Polytechnic’s commitment to quality and innovation, the NBTE also highlighted certain operational areas to be addressed for the full regularisation of the newly introduced programmes.

“These include requirements in operational costs for departments, infrastructure, and equipment which the institution is already working on in line with NBTE standards.

“The Rector of the polytechnic, Alhaji Sani Usman, described the development as a bold validation of the polytechnic’s capacity to deliver high quality technical and vocational education inline with Nigeria’s developmental goals and global best practices.

“The new programmes reflected the institution’s commitment to staying ahead of the curve in digital technology, media innovation, economic development, and urban planning.
