Tinubu’s Past Criticisms President Jonathan Resurface Amid Current Security Crisis

PREVIOUS tweets from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s X account handle
criticizing former President Goodluck Jonathan’s handling of security issues have resurfaced.

Critics argue that Tinubu’s administration is facing similar challenges, with Boko Haram, ISWAP, and Fulani terrorists posing existential threats.

The June 14 attack in Benue State, which claimed over 200 lives, has intensified scrutiny. With over 500,000 lives lost since 2009, Benue State accounts for a significant percentage of these deaths.

Under President Tinubu’s administration on December 25th, 2024, suspected armed herders, on Christmas Day, attacked two communities in Benue State — killing 11 persons.

The attacked communities were identified as Ityuluv, Tse Azege, and Innyiev Ya communities in the Mkomon district of Turan, Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State. According to residents, the assailants struck as the villagers were celebrating Christmas festivities.

The resurfacing of Tinubu’s tweets has raised questions about leadership and accountability in addressing Nigeria’s security crisis.
