Again, Illiterate Edo Govt Misspelling ‘Workshop’, Raises Eyebrows

 

EVENT organized by the Edo State government last week Thursday, June 12, 2025 has attracted criticism due to a banner with a glaring spelling error anchor by the State Governor and Commissioner for Information and Orientationr, Mr. Paul Ohonbamu.

The program, meant to sensitize stakeholders about Governor Monday Okpebholo’s initiatives, featured a backdrop that read “Stakeholders Sensitization ‘Worship'” instead of “Workshop”.

Critics were quick to point out the mistake to Standardpress.com, with one observer noting, “Just look at the backdrop banner and tell me what you see.

“They couldn’t even spell ‘workshop.’ These are the people in charge of my state now.”

The error has raised questions about the level of attention to detail in the governor’s office and the commissioner of communication and orientation’s oversight.

The incident has sparked widespread criticism, with many expressing disappointment in the state government’s ability to organize effective events. The banner’s mistake has become a talking point, overshadowing the actual purpose of the program.

Okpebholo reportedly struggled with his delivery during the presentation of the 2025 budget to the State’s House of Assembly.

The seemingly confused governor was seen in a viral video shouting “it is confusing me” referring to the budget figures, which raised some eyebrows at the time.

The incident raised the questions about his leadership and ability to manage the state’s finances effectively .

The latest incident reflect poorly on Governor Okpebholo’s administration and its ability to manage state affairs effectively.
