Suleiman Aliyu Garga, the Special Assistant on Content Creation to Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has sadly passed away just days after publicly sharing his struggle with a painful toothache.
Garga, a familiar face in the state’s media and political circles, had taken to Facebook on Thursday, July 17, 2025, to express the intensity of the pain he was experiencing.
“You should pray to God to save you from toothache, even if it is for just one minute, Alaji,” he wrote in Hausa-English. “Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs.”
His words, which at the time seemed like a casual plea, now carry a heavy weight.
Shortly after making the post, Garga was admitted to Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital for treatment. He underwent a surgical procedure to address the issue, but tragically, complications followed. According to sources, the surgical site began to bleed, and Garga passed away on Saturday, July 20 — just a day after the operation.
The news of his death has sent shockwaves through Adamawa’s political and media community, with many mourning the sudden and painful loss of a vibrant, hardworking young man who was deeply involved in public service and content development.
Garga was buried the following morning, Sunday, July 21, at the Yolde Pate Muslim Cemetery in Yola. His burial followed the Sallah Raka’at prayers held at Modibbo Zailani Mosque in Yola Town, conducted in accordance with Islamic rites.
Friends, colleagues, and political leaders have continued to pay tribute, remembering him as a passionate communicator, a committed aide, and a young man full of promise.
May his soul rest in peace, and may his family find strength during this difficult time.
