Assistant Commissioner Of Police Accused Of Aiding Oil Bunkering In Shocking Petition

A damning petition has surfaced against Assistant Commissioner of Police, Lot Lantoh Garba, who currently heads the Special Task Force on Petroleum and Illegal Bunkering. The letter, written by a concerned Nigerian and addressed to top government officials, accuses ACP Garba of deeply involving himself in the same illegal oil bunkering activities he was appointed to fight.

According to the petition, Garba allegedly uses his official position to enrich himself while aiding economic saboteurs. He was accused of collecting between ₦250,000 and ₦370,000 from trucks transporting stolen Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) and black oil. The writer claimed that Garba’s influence extended to protecting these illegal operators while positioning his allies in strategic posts to sustain the operation.

The petition further alleged that Garba boasted about his political connections and claimed to have pledged ₦10 billion to a political campaign. It stated that under his supervision, illegal bunkerers operate with confidence, assured of protection and cover. Additionally, Garba was accused of extorting ₦750,000 from policemen seeking postings into his task force — a role exclusively reserved for the Police Service Commission.

The document listed several bank accounts allegedly used for remitting illegal proceeds to the senior officer, painting a picture of a well-coordinated corruption network within the task force. The petitioner described Garba as a “super cop turned super curse,” accusing him of being a disgrace to the police force and a major threat to Nigeria’s economic stability.
