Fear Grip Ondo as Police Burst Baby Factory, Rescue Pregnant Girls and Infant in Ore

The Ondo State Police Command has uncovered a shocking baby factory and human trafficking ring in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area, leading to the arrest of a prime suspect and the rescue of five pregnant girls along with a baby boy.

Investigations revealed that the illegal facility had been operating secretly, selling newborns for prices ranging from ₦400,000 to ₦600,000, depending on the child’s gender. Police spokesperson, Ayanlade Olayinka, confirmed that the main suspect, identified as Ada Clement, confessed alongside her accomplices to running the operation.

He disclosed that the victims—mostly young girls—were kept in the house until they delivered their babies, which were then sold to desperate buyers posing as adoptive parents. The operation came to light on October 21, 2025, when a 17-year-old victim, Vivian Peter from Akwa Ibom, managed to escape and alert the police.

According to her, she was deceived with a fake job offer and brought to Ore, only to be trapped in the illegal home. Acting swiftly, officers from Ore Division and the Gender Unit stormed the premises, rescuing the victims. One of the girls who had already given birth is currently receiving post-natal care at the General Hospital, Ore, while others remain under protective custody.

Police Commissioner, CP Adebowale Lawal, has ordered a full-scale investigation to track down every member of the syndicate and ensure they face justice. He further assured the public that the Command is intensifying efforts to dismantle human trafficking and baby-selling networks that prey on vulnerable young women across the state.
