Bode George Warns Sule Lamido: ‘Respect the Rules or Risk Expulsion from PDP’

Veteran politician and PDP chieftain Chief Bode George has cautioned former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, warning that his recent actions could lead to disciplinary measures, including possible expulsion from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking on Arise Television on Thursday, George expressed disappointment over Lamido’s disregard for party procedures, especially his absence at the recent National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting — a key decision-making body second only to the party’s national convention.

“Lamido knows the procedure. He’s one of the founding fathers of this party. But he didn’t attend the NEC meeting where major decisions were made. At the end of that meeting, the date for the collection and submission of forms was clearly stated,” George said.

He criticized Lamido for showing up at the PDP headquarters on the final day to submit his form despite missing prior engagements. “He’s not a young man. He’s my friend and a founding father of this party, but this behavior is unacceptable. The organisers of the convention are working to ensure a seamless process, and all zonal members complied except Lamido,” he added.

Bode George emphasized that the PDP operates on order and discipline, stressing that “no one is above the party’s rules.” He concluded by urging Lamido to retrace his steps, warning that continued defiance could attract sanctions in line with the party’s constitution.
