A year ago, the Bundestag decided to set up a special fund for infrastructure and climate protection with an additional 500 billion euros Debts to approve. Now it is time to take stock. Have the funds been used well so that the additional interest and repayment burden can be justified? The answer to this question is clearly: no. Almost all of the funds used so far have been used to plug budget holes. Additional investments have largely failed to materialize. There is an urgent need to correct this policy in the coming years.
