‘NAF Airstrikes Destroy Terrorist Hideouts in Borno’s Southern Tumbuns’

The Nigerian Air Force has carried out successful airstrikes targeting terrorist enclaves in the Southern Tumbuns area of Borno State, destroying key hideouts and weakening insurgent operations.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, who said the operation took place on Friday at about 18:50 hours over Ali Sheriffti, a known terrorist stronghold.

According to Ejodame, the mission followed credible intelligence indicating active insurgent movements in the area. Air assets conducted a surveillance sweep, during which several fighters were spotted moving along concealed routes and were tracked to structures hidden beneath dense vegetation.

“Following positive identification, the NAF executed a precise strike, engaging the structures with onboard munitions,” he said, adding that the operation achieved its objective with the destruction of the identified targets.

The airstrikes, he noted, significantly degraded the terrorists’ operational capacity and restricted their freedom of movement within the المنطقة.

Ejodame emphasised that the operation reflects the Air Force’s continued reliance on intelligence-led and precision-driven strategies to eliminate terrorist safe havens.

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, was quoted as reaffirming the military’s commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorist networks.

He assured that operations would continue with increased intensity to protect lives and secure affected regions.

“The Nigerian Air Force will continue to pursue and dismantle terrorist networks with unwavering precision and relentless force,” Ejodame stated, underscoring the force’s determination to ensure that no insurgent enclave remains beyond reach.
