German auto industry: “Now we’re back: in complete uncertainty”

At the end of April, the King of England achieved what hardly any visitor from the Old World has managed to do in the USA recently: the US President’s mood seemed to be lifted at the meeting, i.e. in a socially acceptable sense. Donald Trump didn’t spew any obscenities, didn’t celebrate military strikes, but rather quickly removed the duty on Scotch whiskey and used the word »cute« – “cute” – in his conversation with King Charles III. a (- and he actually meant his counterpart). However, business people noticed another detail: the king had not had a Land Rover brought from England or a Rolls-Royce as his state car, but a Rolls-Royce BMW. So a Brit drove up to the White House in a 760i xDrive Protection VR9, made in Dingolfing in Bavaria, with the Stars and Stripes on the right fender and the Royal Standard of the United Kingdom on the left. If it comes to that, one could hope at that moment, then perhaps there is a chance that this trade war, which Trump is also waging against Europe, especially against European car manufacturers, will calm down again.
