Delta Police Rescue 3-Year-Old Kidnapped by Motorcyclist, Recover Weapons in Separate Operations

The Delta State Police Command has rescued a three-year-old girl who was allegedly kidnapped by a commercial motorcyclist assigned to take her to school daily.

According to a statement from the command, the suspect, identified as Kelvin Ogaga, allegedly abducted the child and later contacted her family, demanding a ransom of ₦500,000.

Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives traced the suspect to a hideout in Ughelli, where the child was found safe and unharmed. Officers also recovered ₦127,000 believed to be part of the ransom, alongside items suspected to have been purchased with proceeds of the crime, as well as the motorcycle used in the abduction.

In a related development, the Police Buffalo Team recovered a Beretta pistol and an iPhone after a suspect fled during a stop-and-search operation around the Power Line area near Bonsaac.

Separately, operatives of the Ozoro Division arrested a suspected cultist, Michael Monday, during a routine patrol. A search of his bag reportedly led to the recovery of a locally made single-barrel gun and a live cartridge.

Preliminary investigations linked the suspect to the Supreme Vikings Confraternity, also known as Aro Bagger, while police say investigations are ongoing into the cases.
