EXCLUSIVE: APC Allegedly Recruits ‘₦10k Data Boys’ to Smear Peter Obi, Boost Online Propaganda

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has apparently employed young Nigerians, known as “10k data boys,” to disparage Mr. Peter Obi and to improve the party’s online presence in the face of a complete breakdown in the government system. This strategy has raised political concerns. These people, who are frequently referred to as “online urchins and ragamuffins,” will be entrusted with advancing the party’s mission and refuting opposing viewpoints on social media, according to those familiar with the situation.

They received detailed instructions on how to use propaganda and disinformation to attack their most ardent opponent, H.E. Peter Obi. Social media’s role in politics and the morality of hiring people to influence online conversation have come under scrutiny as a result of this growth. Critics contend that this strategy may result in the dissemination of false information and the swaying of public opinion.

One thing is for sure: social media’s influence on Nigerian politics will only increase as the country’s political climate changes.
