“WE HAVE WALKED TOGETHER. NOW, LET US RUN TOGETHER.”
A Message of Gratitude to the Good People of Orhionmwon/Uhunmwode Federal Constituency
4th May, 2026
My dear fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, and youths of Orhionmwon/Uhunmwode,
My party leaders, elders, women, and faithful members of our great party, the All Progressives Congress,
I have just completed a journey that began in your hearts long before it began on the road.
22 wards. 22 families. One people.
From Ugboko to Ugu, from Igieduma to Urhonigbe, from Umagbae to Ukpato, from Isi to Igbanke, from Ehor to Abudu, — I saw your faces. I heard your pain. I felt your hope. You gave me kola. You gave me counsel. You gave me courage.
Today, I have submitted my Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to contest for the House of Representatives under our party, the APC.
That form does not bear my name alone. It bears the fingerprints of every farmer who said “we are tired of neglect.” It bears the tears of every mother who begged for a hospital that works. It bears the dreams of every youth who asked me, “Washington, will Abuja finally hear us?”
So first, I say: THANK YOU.
Thank you for walking with me. Thank you for believing before seeing. Thank you, party leaders, for your guidance. Thank you, ward chairmen and executives, for opening your doors. Thank you, women and youths, for your songs and your strength. You are the reason I stand.
On the 15th of May, 2026, we face our party primary.
That day is not about Washington. It is about us. It is about whether Orhionmwon/Uhunmwode will send a messenger or remain unheard.
So I remind you what this aspiration means to us as a people:
1. It means justice — as we have stood for civil liberties and democratic building across this land, we will demand it for every victim of bad roads, bad schools, and bad governance.
2. It means dignity — our farmers will not beg to sell. Our students will not beg to learn. Our elders will not beg to be seen.
3. It means presence — Abuja will know the name of every ward in this constituency, because your son will be in the chamber.
My Commitment to You:
I will not change when I cross the Ring Road to Abuja. The same Washington who sat on your bench will speak on your behalf. The same ears that heard you in the villages will be the ears that fight for you in the Green Chamber.
My Promise:
If you give me your trust at the primary, I will give you my sweat, my voice, and my vote — every single day. I will sponsor bills that bear your name. I will attract projects that bear your address. I will give account that bears your scrutiny.
My Pledge Before God and Before You:
I will not buy your conscience, because it is not for sale. I will not betray your hope, because it is sacred. I will not forget why we started, because the road back home is still the same road.
African wisdom says: “A child fit for the farm is known by his steps on the path there.”
You have seen my steps across 22 wards. On May 15th, let us take the next step — together.
To all card-carrying members of our great party, the APC: I ask for your vote, not for me, but for the child in Iguomo who needs a classroom. For the widow in Evboesi who needs a loan. For the youth in Oza who needs a job. For the farmer in Isi who needs a road. For the trader in Ehor who needs a market. For the student in Urhonigbe who needs a school.
To all supporters: Keep the faith. Keep the unity. Keep the door to door work. The primary is one day. The progress is four years.
_We have walked together. Now, let us run together.
For Orhionmwon. For Uhunmwode. For the future._
And hear me clearly:
History remembers those who stood when it was easier to sit. Destiny rewards those who serve when it was easier to be served. Orhionmwon/Uhunmwode will not be a footnote in the story of Nigeria. With your hands in mine, we will write a new chapter — in bold ink, for all to see.
God bless the APC.
God bless Orhionmwon/Uhunmwode Federal Constituency.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.__
