Anyone who follows the news these days might think that the 2026 summer vacation is already lost: war in the Middle East, rising kerosene prices, airspace closures over the Gulf region. But that’s not a reason to cancel your vacation or scrap all your plans. You can even get real bargains.
The German Travel Association (DRV) confirms: The Iran War and its consequences are having an impact on the travel industry. “Higher kerosene prices, longer flight routes due to airspace closures and possible capacity bottlenecks can be reflected in rising flight prices in the medium term,” says DRV President Albin Loidl.
