Strait of Hormuz: Is the dollar dying on the Strait of Hormuz?

The situation in the Strait of Hormuz remains fragile. The Iranian regime has been blocking since Saturday the crucial strait again – because the USA, for its part, would not refrain from blocking Iranian ports, as it was said. As long as the two opponents do not reliably agree on an end to the war, thousands of oil tankers and cargo ships will continue to be stuck in the Persian Gulf.

Donald Trump and his advisors have apparently understood that this is about more than just oil or the question of whether Iran Uranium is allowed to enrich. The fact that the US President is even accepting the domestic political risk of rising gasoline prices again with his own blockade of Hormuz is the clearest sign of this: a pillar of American economic power is faltering in this thirty-kilometer narrow strip of sea.
