Fanaticism is not restricted to any region or persuasion. It is the lot of all human communities to be infested with some members who trade reasoning for blind passion, and despise counsel, while welcoming foolishness with great bliss! It never stops baffling the reasonable ones, but then, they must realise that wonders never end!
We hear some of these zealots argue that President Bola Tinubu should be allowed to complete the ‘Turn of the South’ or that ADC must present a southern President, or they would vote for Tinubu to complete, hear them again, ‘Turn of the South’! Nothing is as deflating as an illogical conclusion; especially one that borders on political fanaticism!
How can any southerner ever contemplate voting for President Tinubu in 2027, whom they didn’t vote for in 2023 anyway, on the basis of ethnicity? Even though it could be argued that Tinubu has no development plan for either South or North of Nigeria, with the possible exception of members of his power – hungry, mandate standing community, the southern part of Nigeria still bears a greater brunt of his fiery incompetence in that regard.
First, President Tinubu being a touted Democrat and Master Strategist, the South had hoped that at the very least, might secretly nurse a Southern Development agenda in his mind, as he was campaigning in 2023. His predecessor, late President Buhari didn’t hide his nepotism, but with something to show for his people.
We already knew President Tinubu had nothing for the North, as he himself admitted to Hajara Naajaatu, when she confronted him with the matter during the 2023 campaigns, one reason she left him. But nothing could have prepared us for a Tinubu years of locusts in the South!
But here we are today, a helpless and hapless Southern Nigeria, under a Southern President! The first thing the Democrat like no other, and Master Strategist from the South, did in the South was to, in one brief phrase, CANCEL Democracy in Edo State! He stood and bragged to Edo State APC members, before the 2024 Edo Guber election: ” I’m the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Do you want Edo back? The zealots chorused yeeeeaahhss! ” I will give Edo back to you “! Yeeaaahhhh! they chorused again! They didn’t ask him, How? They didn’t need to. They knew how he became President, and that was enough answer! Thus the Southern Democrat and Master Strategist slaughtered Democracy in Edo, because he wanted to revenge against the very ingenious” Edo nor bi Lagos!’ slogan reproof we sent to him when he was meddling in Edo State’s internal affairs in 2020! Such pettiness from a Master Strategist!
Has that his Imperial action improved his Democractic credentials today or diminished it? Every time his anti – Democractic activity and eventual product in Edo is displayed before Nigerians, people lament the callous pettiness that would make a President trade Edo State’s incomparable excellence for such national embarrassment and unmitigated stooge! Yet, President Tinubu is a great Democrat and Master Strategist! A proper Southern President!
The President did not just give Edo State to people who have brought us to the lowest form of indignities and ridicule we have suffered since the creation of Midwest region, he also opened Edo State to the worst possible form of insecurity Edo has ever suffered since Midwest! Esan land, Afemai land, Edo land have become the harvest fields of all sorts human orgies for terrorists invaders. Some reports from hapless victims of these afflictions the President has brought upon us cannot be related for their sheer horribleness! Yet, the Democrats and Master Strategist is a Southern President! Esan people, where the President’s gift Governor hails from, is a theatre of the macabre and a spectacle of dehumanization of Edo citizens. These things happen on a daily basis, yet, empty barrel fanatics are shouting themselves to stupor on Southism, while closing their dumb ears to subsistence, humanity and exisistence! Esan people are in a horrible state of siege!
Women in Uromi – Ubiaja – Ewohimi villages are constantly being serially raped by many marauders in front of their husbands everyday. The men are made to watch and, often than not, later killed! The other day, a young man was adopted from his own home and the father made to pay ₦10m for his release.
I’m told when the victims are at custody of the terrorists, the cost of maintaining them is now competing with the ransom cost. Because they now request for branded food from first class eateries, confectionery and other provisions. You will need about two big Ghana Must Go bags to bring them along! And sometimes, when you deliver the ransom money and they believe there could still be more, they exchange you with their old prisoner and you take his place! The father of the young man had that experience.
These are all the Dividends of Democracy that you get from a Democrat, Master Strategist, APC Southern President!
