Gunmen have abducted a member of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Denty Laven, who represents Pankshin South Constituency.
According to reports, the lawmaker was taken from his residence in the Dong area of Jos North Local Government Area on Sunday night. His whereabouts remain unknown as of press time.
The incident comes amid rising insecurity in Plateau State. Just last week, gunmen invaded the Dong community and abducted a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and a student of the University of Jos. The victims were seized from the family home of Solomon Dansura around 10 p.m.
Security agencies are yet to issue an official statement on Laven’s abduction.
