Adefarati Moves to Boost Security With New Police Command and Patrol Van

At the foundation-laying ceremony of the Police Area Command Office in Iwaro-Oka, lawmaker Adefarati reaffirmed his commitment to security in the region. The project, which he personally initiated, was paired with the donation of a brand-new Toyota Hilux patrol van to the Akungba Police Station.

He explained that the Area Command project will be executed in two phases, with the second phase providing residential quarters for police officers. According to him, the patrol van will improve police mobility, enhance patrol efficiency, and ensure quicker response to security threats in Akungba and nearby communities.

“As your representative, I will continue to prioritize security in our development agenda, ensuring that police officers have the resources and support they need to discharge their duties effectively,” Adefarati assured.

The lawmaker commended Iwaro-Oka community leaders for their foresight, noting that their request for a police command office last year spurred his swift action. He emphasized that security requires joint effort between government officials and community members.

Beyond security, Adefarati highlighted his contributions in agriculture, education, water supply, youth empowerment, and infrastructure. He pointed to initiatives such as distribution of fertilizers, classroom construction and renovation, bursary awards, drilling of solar-powered boreholes, and provision of solar street lights across communities.

He also mentioned empowerment programmes through the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), as well as motions, bills, and federal job placements he has facilitated for youths in his constituency.

On the Hilux donation, Adefarati said the gesture reflects his dedication to supporting security agencies and sustaining community development. He added that the vehicle will be particularly useful in safeguarding areas hosting institutions like Adekunle Ajasin University.

In conclusion, he expressed gratitude to the Commissioner of Police and senior officers for their cooperation in strengthening security in the constituency and across Ondo State.
