Singer Spyro has shared the deeply emotional moment he reconnected with his longtime idol, veteran Nigerian musician Faze, at his residence. The Who’s Your Guy crooner admitted that he couldn’t hold back tears after hosting the legendary singer, whose music had shaped his early journey.
Spyro revealed that listening to Faze’s classic hits after the visit overwhelmed him with nostalgia. He described those songs as powerful works that influenced not just his artistry but also his personal growth, noting that they stirred emotions he had long kept buried.
Reflecting on Faze’s artistry, Spyro lamented that much of today’s music feels shallow compared to the soul and depth of earlier generations. He explained that this realization is one of the driving forces behind his upcoming album, The Men, The Boys and Your Guy, where he hopes to revive the emotional richness that inspired him as a younger artist.
In his words: “Yesterday I lost every ounce of steeze and composure as Faze came to my house. I don’t even know how to express the feeling. When he left I started playing old songs and I lost it, I cried like a baby. Those were the songs that formed me, songs that moved my depth. This is what I feel the new generation music lacks, which is what I am trying to bring back with my new album THE MEN, THE BOYS AND YOUR GUY.”
