Nigeria is just about to be signed into hell by President Bola Tinubu. His January 2026, new tax law despises morality and endorses nuances of criminality. The new philosophy of perversion, which is an advanced version of grab it, snatch it and run with it, Emilokan philosophy, emphasizes that Money is Supreme to the safety, peace and well being of Nigerians. It completely contradicts the primary purpose of Government, which our Constitution mandates, and which the President took an oath to uphold. This tax law by its very nature and tone, reveals a deep insight into the mercantilist attitude of the current administration of President Tinubu and
underscores why the regime has been a lesson in callousness and mockery at the angst, pains, hunger and hurts of Nigerian people. Now we know that our lives and peace are priced in ₦Naira and Kkobo by this administration!
This pervert doctrine was exposed in a CHURCH in Lagos on Saturday, by the Chairman, Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, Mr Taiwo Oyedele, who had no idea about the situational irony he was creating, when he said in the Church ” the new tax law makes no distinction between legitimate and *illegitimate* sources of income”… He continued: “if somebody is doing ‘ runs’, they go out to meet men and get paid for sex… they will pay taxes on it”. He emphasized that the tax law is only interested in whether there was *income*, not morality or legitimacy, involved in *whatever* you do, pronto, you are taxed on it! End of story! It did not occur to zealous Mr Taiwo that the word *legitimate* and *illegitimate* derive their content meanings from “legal” or illegal or “Lawful” or “unlawful ” And from which side of the Law you are standing on. The point is that the concept of lawful or not, operates on moral principles!
Isn’t it far fetched logic therefore, that his tax “law” would be so anxious to brazenly and carelessly advertise and licence *illegitimate* incomes in Nigeria?
By this their strange declaration, the new tax law legitimises *all* income sources that are ready to pay their taxes as acceptable in Nigeria.
This must be Independence Day of Criminals in Nigeria. Terrorists, bandits, Advanced Fee Fraudsters ( aka 419), kidnappers, human traffickers, human parts salesmen, ‘one chance’ operators and hard drug dealers etc must be having multiple loud parties by now. Why not? Their nefarious sources of income have just been legitimised by Mr Taiwo Oyedele’s new Tax Law! Pay your tax and your crimes against God and humanity are forgiven you. Sounds familiar? Well, that is the import of his insidious doctrine in Church to ‘God-fearing’ members last Saturday. He was speaking to worshippers, whose holy book says emphatically that: “Law are made against lawless men” and that “the love of money is the root of all evil”! What an irony!
This new tax law is certainly depraved and seeks to lure Nigerian citizens, especially the young ones, into such depravity. The three prominent religions we have in Nigeria condemn the inordinate greed for money without a modicum of moral restrain in its pursuit, but not President Tinubu’s immoral tax law. For them, money is supreme to all the values of our progenitors. They are forgetting easily that those values of cautious restraints and others, are why Nigeria is still on her feet today. Now President Tinubu wants to remove that pivot and legitimise a gangsters society, where law cancel morality and foster illegitimate incomes!
Nigerians must rise to reject and refuse this doctrine that wants to trade on our peace, security and well being to increase income for President Tinubu. No tax law, whatever the lies told of the intended uses, is worth our well being, welfare and safety!
President Tinubu must be made to remember his humanity, which he obviously lost on May 29, 2023, or at least made to realise that Nigerians are not commodities in his palace shelf to merchandise for Kabiesi’s comfort at will.
He should know that Nigerians are human beings waiting for him to deliver the profits accruing from managing Nigeria’s rich human and mineral resources. So far all we have got are endless taxes, and eternal paper textbook economics. We didn’t expect he will be turning kidnapping, terrorism, armed robbery and drug dealing etc, into profitable enterprises by a law that does not discriminate between good and evil income sources. First, he has borrowed Nigerians into the fourth generation, now he wants to turn our fragile safety, peace and well being into income!
