Tinubu Orders Security Chiefs to Hunt Down Perpetrators of Niger Market Attack

President Bola Tinubu has directed top security officials to immediately identify, track, and arrest those responsible for the deadly Kasuwan Daji market attack in Niger State, insisting that the perpetrators must be brought to justice without delay.

The order, conveyed in a statement issued on Sunday by his media aide, Bayo Onanuga, was addressed to the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS).

The directive follows a brutal attack earlier on Sunday when terrorists stormed a village market in Kabe District, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State. Reports indicate that nearly 40 people were killed during the assault, while several others were abducted, throwing the community into mourning and fear.

President Tinubu also instructed security agencies to urgently rescue all those abducted during the attack, stressing that no effort should be spared in ensuring their safe return.

“These terrorists have tested the resolve of our country and its people,” the President said, adding that they must face the full weight of the law for their actions.

He further warned that regardless of their identity or motive, the attackers would be relentlessly pursued. According to him, anyone found aiding, abetting, or enabling terrorism in any form would also be tracked down and held accountable.

The President’s statement underscores his administration’s stance that acts of terror will not be tolerated and that security agencies must act decisively to protect lives and restore public confidence.
