A 17-year-old boy, Teddy Onwuchekwa, has touched many hearts online after reaching out to popular social media activist VeryDarkMan for help in finding his estranged Nigerian father, who disappeared from his life years ago.
Teddy, who was born and raised in London to an English mother and a Nigerian father, revealed that his father left when he was just two years old. Since then, he has grown up without any contact or clear information about his father’s whereabouts.
According to the teenager, all attempts to trace his father over the years have failed, leaving him with unanswered questions about his identity and family roots.
In a message shared online, Teddy introduced himself and explained his situation, appealing directly to VeryDarkMan for assistance. He disclosed his father’s name as Derrick Onwuchekwa and expressed hope that social media could succeed where personal efforts had not.
“I would be very happy if you help me locate him,” Teddy said, adding that he has old photographs of his father and grandfather that could help in the search.
The emotional appeal has since drawn attention online, with many users expressing sympathy and encouraging efforts to reunite the teenager with his long-lost father.
