The Kano State Police Command has confirmed that a woman and her six children were killed after unknown attackers broke into their home in Dorayi Chiranchi Quarters, Kano State, on Saturday, January 17, 2027.
The police received a distress call at about 12:10 pm reporting the attack on the household of Haruna Bashir. The victims were attacked with dangerous weapons, suffering fatal injuries.
Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori deployed a police team led by DCP Lawal Isah Mani, in charge of operations, to the scene. The bodies were evacuated and rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
A team led by ACP Wada Jarma of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) was instructed to conduct a thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice. The police extended condolences to the family, the people of Dorayi Chiranchi, and Kano State.
The incident was captured on a live Facebook stream by Freedom Radio Nigeria, showing that the attackers also threw an infant into a well.
