Tinubu Returns to Lagos After Multi-Country Tour of France, Kenya and Rwanda

President Bola Tinubu has returned to Lagos State after a series of diplomatic and economic engagements across France, Kenya, and Rwanda.

He arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, on Friday evening at about 7:12pm, marking the conclusion of his foreign tour.

On arrival, the President was received by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Femi Hamzat, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Mudashiru Obasa, and other top government officials.

According to a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the trip focused largely on strengthening economic ties, attracting foreign investment, and engaging global partners on Nigeria’s reform agenda.

While in France, Tinubu reportedly held meetings with international investors, where he emphasized transparency, fiscal discipline, and ongoing economic reforms aimed at stabilising the Nigerian economy.

He later attended the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, co-hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto.

At the summit, the President called for reforms in global financial systems and stronger economic integration across Africa, stressing the need for policies that drive continental growth and development.

He also highlighted Nigeria’s potential in the blue economy, pledging cooperation with Gulf of Guinea nations in maritime security and intelligence sharing.

During his stop in Nairobi, Tinubu held bilateral talks with Madagascan President Michael Randrianirina, focusing on strengthening diplomatic and economic relations.

The final leg of the trip took him to Kigali, Rwanda, where he attended the Africa CEO Forum alongside African leaders, investors, and global business executives.

There, discussions centred on regional integration, cross-border investment, and strategies for accelerating Africa’s economic transformation.

Tinubu also met with Rwandan President Paul Kagame and representatives from major organisations including the International Finance Corporation, APM Terminals, and the Winme Group.

The Presidency said the engagements yielded “notable favourable outcomes,” as the administration continues its push to attract investment and deepen Nigeria’s global economic partnerships.
