SENATOR Roland Owie has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for waking up 42 years old proposed Calabar-Lagos Costal Road construction and Oronsaye Report on how to restructure the Civil Service.
In a press statement made available to press men in Benin City, Senator Owie also pray for the repose of the souls Senators and House members who worked for the actualization of the project.
“I wish to congratulate President Tinubu on the order to implement the long standing “Oronsaye Report”, and also for revisiting the costal road, Calabar to Lagos.
“That Project was put into the 1982 Federal Government Budget by Bendel, Cross River States’ National Assembly Caucus led then by Late Senator Nosike Ikpo, Senators David Dafinone, Umolu, Atake, Hon. Dangogo, Princewill Ingo Mac Eteli, Eguaseki Ogida, Uwagboe, Dr Sowho.
“House of Representative members who supported are Hon. Junaid Mohamed, Hon. Sule Lamido, Hon (Mrs) Ebenezer Babatope, Hon. Lady Eze of Enugu State just to mention a few of those who supported the project at the National Assembly.
“I was a member of the house of Representatives Committee on the Appropriation where initiative for the coastal road was taken.
“May God bless all the National Assembly members and grant Eternal rest to all those who have gone to join the lord.
“May Eternal Rest be grant onto H.E Shehu Shagari who was a humble and listening president, Dr K.O Mbadiwe, who was Presidential Adviser on National Assembly then, Senator Uba Ahmed, and Chuba Okadigbo who were National Assembly Advisers to President Shagari. They all corporated.
“Above all, May God bless President Bola Tinubu on waking up this all important road network, after 42 years, to boost the economic life of Southern Nigeria, and Nigeria in General.
