CLEARLY there is a new Culture of Electoral malfeasance subtly being perfected by the present political status quo of the APC. Their utterances before any election, their follow up methods and determination to achieve the travesties they conceive, leave no room for doubts that their intention is deliberate. They have decided not to rely on, or respect any form of electoral laws, rules or regulations. They would go to any length, risk anything, including the deaths of many citizens to declare their candidate as winner.
The lead men in this new rogue and dangerous philosophy, that was propounded by the present President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, are: the President himself, the Chief of Staff to the President, the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Hon Nyesom Wike, and Senator Adams Oshiomhole. The philosophy is “Emilokan”, constantly being reinforced by the Snatch, Grab and Run mantra. In a viral video, the President promulgated this as the new Electoral Culture of the APC, when he promised Edo State APC members that he was going to give Edo State back to them, because he is the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
On Saturday, September 21, 2024, the President, using his surrogates named earlier, entrenched this impunity with reckless abandon!
The Edo State September 21 election
is still very much with us. The world should note that what is happening in Edo State is a serious, calculated attempt to do away with Democracy in Nigeria and entrench the obnoxious philosophy of Snatch, Grab and Run. The method includes: using State police to undermine the authority of State Governors, threaten citizens, and compel electoral officials to declare false results at ANY COST!
It may appear to be a coincidence, but it is not! State by State, this evil machinery will be deployed until they achieve a full blown Dictatorship that cannot tolerate any form of dissent! Already, their National Chairman has already boasted that they would deploy the same devious device they used in Edo State, in the approaching Ondo State governorship election!
Nigerians must rise now and defend Democracy or we are all game for this wicked Agenda by a few oppressors, who delight in inflicting hunger, pain and sadness on citizens. The determination of this evil agenda is signposted by how Nyesom Wike has relentlessly persecuted Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State, because Governor Fubara would not play the Stooge. Nigerians need to know what we are up against. And brace up to resist slavery hiding under the guise of Democracy. This new Culture people, is not Democracy, it is not even Civil rule, it is plain brazen faced Dictatorship! Let us resist it!
